Philips have terrible motion flow issues, poor app support and poor quality control. The annoying thing is the ambilight works quite well. It was great when the technology Samsung Ambilight enough to allow TV viewing with a reasonable level of illumination.
I have never been able to understand how anyone manages to convince themselves and their families that they Samsung Ambilight to watch a modern TV in pitch darkness "to get the true experience". Also recall that when I first started to look at AV Forums it was a real eye opener to the number of folk out there with Samsung Ambilight video perfection obsessions.

Philips was once a very good low end make of TVs but in my opinion Philips have slowly been going downhill over the last 5 or 6 years with there TVs. Also the scart socket at the back of TVs have been slowly getting faced out in the last year or so on some newer TVs.
